Watch the Ankles!

Today, I’ll share with you guys another personal story, that obviously relates to my football life. As a kid, I had my first severe ankle sprain on my left ankle, for which I couldn’t play for about a month and a half. Later on, I twisted my ankle several times before I, once again, sprained my ankle. This time, it was the right. Time goes on, though, and injuries heal. However, I began to tape my ankles up before each game and each training sessions. Soon after, the injuries stopped. Once I was about 14 years old, I gradually ceased to do this, and I sprained my ankle three times, and tore my ligaments completely another time, all in less than a year and a half. This goes out to remind everybody who plays, not only soccer, but participates in regular exercise, that safety comes first. With injuries, one cannot put 100% on the field, if they can even WALK on the field. Here are some videos showing stretching exercises, for those who want to watch! Video 1 Video 2

  1. This post really relates to me because while playing lacrosse last year I sprained my ankle but I continued to play anyway. That wasn't a good idea because to this day I can still feel a slight pain in my ankle after doing a lot of exercise. This post has also made me realize the importance of taking care of my ankles.
